Alison Christensen - Paraplanner

Qualifications

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Newcastle and a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) from Kaplan Professional.

Experience

I have over 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry. I joined Unison Outsourcing in 2016 and have previously worked in other paraplanning roles at Westpac Group and with smaller IFA’s in both Sydney and Wollongong. I also have experience in research and funds management from my time at Macquarie Group.

Personal Interests

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, travelling and at the beach.

Helen Roelofsen - Paraplanner

Qualifications

I hold a Diploma of Financial Planning (RG146) from Kaplan Professional.

Experience

I have 4 years of experience within the financial services industry. I started out as a customer service officer and worked my way up to become a financial adviser. I then moved down the coast and made the change to become a paraplanner at Unison Paraplanning.

Personal Interests

In my free time I enjoy travelling, horse riding, reading, cooking, going for walks and spending time with friends.

Paul Bartholomew Paraplanner

Paul Bartholomew - Operations Manager

Qualifications

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Wollongong.

Experience

I have over 12+ years management experience in industry and professional services firms. Since Unison's inception in 2015 I have overseen the day to day operations of both the legal and non-legal business arms, including the establishment of our BPO business and the delivery of paraplanning services.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, travelling and at the beach.

Maria Marzano Paraplanner

Maria Marzano - Paraplanner

Qualifications

I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Wollongong and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning.

Experience

I have 15 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Unison I worked as a paraplanner with local financial planning practices and have occupied roles in client services and superannuation administration with StatePlus, Deutsche Bank and MLC in Sydney.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, I enjoy yoga and pilates, reading, listening to music, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Kurt Brabender Paraplanner

Kurt Brabender - Paraplanner

Qualifications

I hold a Diploma of Financial Planning (RG146) and I am in near completion of my Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning and my Bachelor of Counter Terrorism Security Intelligence degree.

Experience

Prior to joining Unison as a Paraplanner, I worked in the private school sector as a School Support Officer whilst studying at University. I later worked in a Public Relations/Marketing role in 2015/16, a role I fulfilled whilst living in the United States of America. Post my international travels, I gained employment as a Legal Assistant in Sydney and later as a Paraplanner when I made my south coast move to the beautiful Illawarra.

Outside of work, I enjoy both domestic and international travelling, bike riding, keeping up to date with global politics, writing and spending quality time with my friends and family.

Kimberley Hines

Kimberley Hines - Admin Assistant

Qualifications

Advanced Diploma of Business (Legal Practice) from RMIT University.

Experience

After completing my Advanced Diploma, I worked as a legal assistant for the Australian Government Solicitor in the Commercial and Property departments. Following that, I worked for six barristers as a legal secretary/personal assistant. Following a move to Wollongong in 2017 I joined Unison Outsourcing assisting across the legal and non-legal business units with word processing, document preparation and office administration.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, playing netball, going to the gym, going to the beach, travelling, reading and dining out.

Can I communicate with my paraplanner?

Of course! We believe in creating a relationship between the financial advisers and paraplanners, you have direct access to the paraplanner who will be working for you.

How do I get the client information and file notes to you?

All information will be received via email to a central email address then allocated to your specific paraplanner.

How long does a plan take?

Standard turnaround time is 5 business days.

How you ensure our client information is kept confidential?

All the paraplanners working for us have secure workstations with continuously updated virus protection and firewall security. Confidentially agreements are also signed to protect your client information.

Is Unison Outsourcing linked to any specific dealer group?

No, we are a completely independent, privately owned Australian company.

Are the SoAs completed in Australia?

YES! None of your work is sent offshore, we prepare all advices from our regional NSW head office.

Where are you located and can I meet the team working for me?

Our offices are located in Wollongong NSW, and we encourage our clients to come and meet their team as part of building a strong working relationship.
